Make Your Brand Memorable

By Amber Hyde

With today’s technology we have access to a wealth of information.  We are also bombarded with advertising and imagery everywhere; online, television, on our phones, and even billboards. This amount of material can sometimes result in information overload and when faced with information overload, people have learned to skim past a company’s brand or worse, ignore it all together.

So, in this world of skimming and ignoring, how do businesses reach their customers and potential customers?  Engaging images and good design is a great place to start. By nature, humans are visual creatures who are good at absorbing and remembering images and colors.  Our goal as designers is to help a company and their brand stand out in the crowd of information and be memorable.  So, how do you accomplish this with images and design?

First, focus on strong engaging graphics that are relevant and meaningful.  Personally I am a sucker for clean, thoughtful design, something that has multiple layers, which allows viewers/customers to relate to it on their own level. We, at Ink Publishing & Design focus on creating that one ad, that one magazine, that one brochure, that stands out

and will make someone stop and take a look at it because the design and imagery stands out.  Good creative professional design will help your brand stand out and be memorable.

Second, draw customers to your brand by staying consistent with your brands look.  You need to keep the look of your brand consistent across all platforms, which include print material, websites, blogs, and social media.  Sounds simple enough, but it is surprising how many brands do not keep a consistent look across all media.  Because of this, taking that extra step to keep a cohesive look will make a brand memorable and perhaps a bit unique.  But even more so, your customers will recognize it is you if you are consistent with your brand.

I want to share with you some inspiration. I have included images of branding that I was drawn to and that I think speaks volumes on this subject of reaching customers, through good design and images and by keeping a consistent look.
